A downloadable Simply-Wrong Game for Windows and Android

Play as Taya, a long time- and [sexually] frustrated employee aboard the Vigil IV as things go south within the Iris star-system and she ends up stranded on the planet of Para. A low-tech planet notorious for its debaucherous tribes and carnal cultures.

Accompany her in her travels as she tries to enjoy herself despite her predicament while ignoring the darker truths as they unravel.

Under The Iris is a little passion project of mine and still a big work-in-progress, progress that will go at a steady, but slow, pace as I am pretty much a one person team, the music is done by the amazing ArchieWhitepaw though, go check him out if you like the sounds.

Currently there's still a lot of dialogue, areas and art to be added, I aim to make a visually pleasing game where your choices matter. For now though you can expect to run into placeholder assets, unfinished dialogue and barred off areas.

El juego es una joya. Su arte, su historia, sus mecánicas. Aunque sea un proyecto pequeño y de una sola persona me parece algo maravilloso.

Si puedes podrías actualizar los controles de Android, confunden al comienzo pero luego te adaptas, aunque cuando vas a huir de los enemigos se vuelve incómodo. 


Un traductor tampoco estaría mal, al menos centrarse en los idiomas más comunes o que podamos entrar al los archivos para traducirlos manualmente, yo lo haría en mis tiempos libres 

Por todo es un buen juego

I will have the visual issue of the esc menu overlapping with the d-pad fixed in the next update.

The d-pad is on the right side because I put it there.

Currently the map is a work in progress and only works in the dungeon segment. For now, when in the dungeon, tapping the top left corner should open/close the map.

Do I have to wait for auto-save checkpoints? No manual save?

Any plans to add more languages? Some of those dialogue scenes are long.💀

This version has no manual saves, no. It auto-saves at campsites and after specific events.

I do not have the money to hire translators, so I am not planning on adding extra languages.

If I have time I might add the option.

The previous version had a control guide because it had no visual buttons, the new visual buttons made the old control guide irrelevant because it referenced button locations that no longer exists, so it's been removed.

Maybe you could just open up the text files or add a translation tool?

That way, fans could have an easy way to translate it.

Do you think this game would ever be available on mobile? I'm just asking cuz I'm trying to play this on my tablet and the controls are very finicky.

Hey it's me again, I seem to be soft locked inside the cave you find Nits in, I try to go back to the entrance but It won't let me go forward, but the only unexplored place is WIP

when you say " it won't let me go forward" do you mean you are unable to activate the room transition by walking into the exit? Or do you mean that there is a corridor you can't fully traverse? If it's the latter you might be in the corridor with the hole in the ground.

I see a long hallway with a blue transparent background, trying to move forward will eventually not do anything midway through said hallway

Wanted to play it and.... For playing it firstly i must install it on computer?

? If you want to play it on pc you install the pc windows version on the pc. If you want to play on mobile you install the android .APK on your mobile device.

Just usually some indie games don't need to be install after downloading rar, so didn't expect that

Also, can you optimize the installer a bit? My save files got overwritten again.

I can't seem to recreate the issue you have been experiencing. Re-installing shouldn't remove your save files.

you should make more directional movement anims :) like walking forwards n backwards instead of just using the sideways walking anim.

There will be! I have 3 extra enemy types in the works and some unlockable skills, stat boosts are something I will introduce as the dungeon expands. 

but for now it is just the 2 enemy types in the game.

You do not need to this game runs absolutly fine under android. 

Steam has released a driver that makes every windows game unable on android.

Use the app "Game Native" check it up on github it explanations everything you need to know.

Saw an ad on e6. Wanted to ask, how much of the nsfw content is planned to be hetero and how much, if any, is lesbian? I don't really play many NSFW games unless it has a hefty amount of leabian content, and i can (preferably) opt out of hetero or m/m stuff.

I ask simply because my sexual preferences are lesbian.

Well, I have planned quite a bit of f/f action, but most of it won't be any time soon. The biggest jump in f/f content is likely to come once the eastern clan gets introduced, that clan being made up out of mostly women. Aside from that I also intend to introduce a female companion, add scenes with the current female cast and more.

But I can't put a timestamp on these things. At the time of writing there are no f/f scenes yet, only f/m and m/m.

I had the opportunity to play it and I really loved it, and I was wondering if there might also be a possibility of a mobile version in the future?

I will have to look into it, but if it turns out to not take too much troubleshooting or be too complicated then I will likely end up make one. Won't be anytime soon though.

i think this is one of the most promising game that ive played recently, every asset is incredibly done in a unique and refined artstyle, with enough amount of kinky kinky stuff, just makes u wanna have more of it!

your e621 ad worked. I click on all the ads though because i'm insane. You wanna make a visually appealing game where the player's choices matter?  You got the first part down. It looks to me like you're having fun experimenting with your style and limits. How you answer "choices mattering" will define your game. Your game is really new; you can still make it however you want. I want to give you some advice to help you get it right the first time. These notes got too long so basically, this is how I'd do it.  

Combat Rework:

As a player I hope you will make a combat system that is easy for me to learn and manipulate because i want to use it to chase down my fetishes. I’d therefore make it work as a fetish roleplay engine.

My take is that the "carnal" system being adjacent to HP and damage is a start, but is underdeveloped.  For the player's choices to matter, let combat depend on the player's sexual patterns, not simply menu selections. The “carnal” system should be the language the player uses to tell the game these patterns.  You can implement these ideas with only what you have already developed, + some code! I'll illustrate for ya.

Stage One: Sex as gameplay. Killin' mofos with guns and magic will be your thing to deal with. As far as I care, the carnal system is the combat. Fertility meter. Shaped like a womb or some ballzzz. It is the long term version of the horny meter. Fertility is across battles, horny level resets with each. More sex: high fertility. Low sex: low fertility. The effectiveness of carnal attacks like seduction depends on your fertility. If its low, seduction is weak, fuck em up. If its high, seduction is strong, just fuck’em.

Everyone on the planet is horny. Every battle is about negotiating horny levels with the enemy, not winning, not leveling up, not grinding except on a dick. Enemies have horny levels and fetishes.

If they aint horny, seduce them. If you appeal to their fetish, its an easier battle. If you deny their fetish or blueball them by seducing them without any relief, harder battle. Every sexual act increases fertility. Fertility is decreased by not fucking anything. Sex is the point, but how much or how little is not punished by game overs – that’s just kink shaming.

Fertility maxes out. Clearly the player did not manage their horny levels properly. You’ll learn why I called it fertility now. Rather than just a game over with a scene, make a show out of it! Player was banging everything. Since they love sex so much, increase enemy encounters a lot to simulate a gangbang without forcing it. Player is now forced to appease enemy fetishes if caught having sex again, including forced impregnations. You live with it afterward. Is it a game over? Not in the sense that it forces you to stop playing. Does it matter? Up to you.

Low fertility, maybe enemies and NPCs make jokes about the player being a virgin. Horny level is more sensitive, so it could more easily jump up, but you stay out of trouble either way. Point is that if people want images or animations of a fetish, they should just commission you. Try to make fetishes come out naturally by turning them into playstyles. You will have a very unique H game if you do that.

Stage Two: Party system.

What fun is a party if you cant play with your friends? Lets say the player wants to "date" minxy. You dont need a subplot for this necessarily. At minimum, all you need is a mechanic to FUCK minxy mid battle. Recode minxy the same as an enemy - you "attack" him but its with sex so its all good. Reuse current seduction animation, write a couple new lines, draw his reaction, done, EZ. You can literally do that in a day. Both Taya and Minxy get a buff to fertility. The game can detect that the player is "dating" minxy due the rampant sex they have with him, but not with enemies nor NPCs. Add some affectionate flavour dialogue between them. Perhaps “battle” him to unlock his fetishes, just call it a practice spar and let him be an enemy you can’t kill.

Stage Three: Adding fetishes.

Don’t worry, I’ll describe what I mean by adding fetishes as playstyles. Some filthy fucker liked egg insertion. First we gotta let this fucker know egg insertion is in the game. So I'd make sure the player can see fetishes of each enemy during fights. They can check the fetishes via menu in combat. he sees that the buh'dee has a fetish for incubating other species. Player selects it. the buh'dee says "yo holmes i got some eggs for you." player accepts. You add a sentence saying the eggs were inserted, reuse the animation you already made. Modify something game side, such as giving taya a slower walk speed and making her have to lay the eggs after x time. If that dirty fucker lays eggs for ten different buh'dee, then you trigger something special. wham. They get not just a scene of the fetish, but many minutes of sustained gameplay all about it. When I said you didn’t need to add anything new, I meant it. The game is a concept right now; you need to fill it out with mechanics so that you can sit back, relax, and just art away when the time comes. 

Ok. I’m done being the ideas guy.

 I know it was a lot so I’ll stop here. If you really want the other notes I have them, but this is really what I wanted to say.

I think my vision of what I want combat to be is around the halfway point of what it currently is and what you are describing. I do plan on including in-combat interactions within the party, but more so in the form of supporting abilities rather than in-combat dating. What you are describing using the term "fertility" technically already is in the game, but unused until I have drawn the needed visual assets and such, it is an invisible counter that will trigger events and unlock dialogue options for example.

For now post-combat scenes are not yet in the game and just are WIP placeholder dialogue, but I don't intend to gatekeep all the post combat sex scenes and events behind the "game-over section". What you get will be how you played. Did Taya ride all targets into submission and won the encounter? Well, then there is going to be a victory scene featuring that, so winning will also reward you, just the context is going to be different.

Your last paragraph reads like it'd be more suited for dialogue events rather than combat encounters, a sort of bartering with gathered knowledge about the subject's likes/dislikes, appeasing their preferences to reach a goal that may or may not come with unintended benefits/consequence. I will most likely include something like this in dialogue events, because it does sound fun.

What scenes are currently available and is the first dungeon beatable? asI went in there but didnt seem to trigger anything or able to do anyting but battle

None atm, but I plan on including some in the next update and expand on it further in the future.

Incrementally I will add more scenes and events in existing areas while steadily expanding the world and updating assets, I will specify the changes for each update in the devlogs that'll accompany them.

I don't have a fleshed out roadmap, but I do plan on including egg laying in the relevant win/loss scenario's!

At some point I do want to include the chance of getting knocked up followed by actual gameplay, but that's not going to happen anytime soon yet, I want to expand the world a bit more first.

Pretty promising, btw what does the Carnal really do atm aside from saucey stuff.

At the moment carnal attacks do "lust" damage, kind of a mirror to the HP pool, enemies have different HP and Lust pool values, so for one enemy it would be more efficient to use one form of damage over the other. Currently the game already tracks what roughly happened during combat, in future updates this will impact victory/loss scenario's and unlock or lock off dialogue options/events.

Any intention to allow for a male player character?

Not sure how to interpret this, but if you are asking if I intend to cast a male protag as an alternative option to Taya, than the answer is no, Taya is the protagonist.  Currently there is a male playable character already, Minxy. If you are asking for a more masculine male as a playable character in the future then it's a maybe, I haven't fully settled on a roster of playable characters.

If you are asking for the ability to swap Taya's sprite to that of her (male) partymember freely when exploring, then sure, that's something I will try to keep in mind to implement in the future.

Thought I'd ask because I couldn't find it written anywhere, if this Minxy is an option I'll happily give him a go.

You can find Minxy in the wooden cabin in the first tribe, he will join your party if you let him.

Currently the only available NSFW animated scenes featuring Minxy are male-on-male, but will be expanded on in the future.
